Amazing Spring break whale watching trip that turned into watching a collaboration and feeding frenzy over the deep trench in Monterey Bay! We first noticed all the bird activity and then saw how a large pod of pacific white-sided dolphins, a big team of California sea lions, and one male humpback whale created a fishing party. We were on a small boat trying to keep up with them and were thrilled to be there. This time of year in the spring, large schools of anchovies move close to the coast and create large gatherings of predators and hungry scavengers that I was able to photograph.
